Passing of the EldersTewa Prayer to the Deceased
We have muddied the waters for you,
We have cast shadows between us,
We have made steep gullies between us,
Do not, therefore, reach for even a hair of our heads,
Rather, help us obtain that which we are always seeking,
Long life, that our children may grow,
Abundant game, the raising of crops,
And in all the works of man
Ask for these things for all, and do no more,
And now you must go, for now you are free.
To post a memorial, type the elder's name into the Elders box. If you like, you can fill in the fields for your name and email address, but you can remain anonymous. You can then write as much as you wish about the person's life, make a prayer, or otherwise make tribute.
To view a list of the memorials others have left, select the Contents link. In addition, each memorial has links to let you reply to it (continue the thread) and find other memorials. Before posting a message, you should browse the memorials (topics, or threads) in the forum to see if the elder has already been remembered. If a memorial already exists, replying to the existing memorial makes it much easier for others to find all of the comments on the same person.
